I started getting tutored by Siva Master when I started my AS levels. He would always look at my work and focus on improving on the specific weaknesses that I had. This helped me to achieve the results I needed in order to get into university. It is this same ethos that is used by all teachers at A+Tec for students of all abilities in order to help them to achieve their maximum potential.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching at A+Tec. The environment that Siva Master has maintained is a friendly and very successful one, helping students to achieve their desired GCSE and A-Level grades and more. With teachers studying a variety of subjects at university, A+Tec has always beenable to offer great advice for students seeking help in terms of university applications and future job prospects. In addition to this, activities such as the sports day events in the summer makes things much more fun for the students and makes the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone, something that Siva Master has always aspired to do.
Overall my experience in association with A+Tec has been an amazing one and I am thankful to Siva Master for giving me the opportunity to teach here as it has helped me a tremendous amount and I will always remember my time at A+Tec fondly.
Whilst studying at A+Tec, I felt that the hands-on teaching was incredibly beneficial, and the diligence of the teaching approach was clearly something that couldn’t be matched in the larger classes that I was accustomed to whilst studying at school.
Furthermore, having taught at A+Tec briefly, I was able to appreciate the commitment and dedication of the teaching staff at the school, and the care and understanding that they demonstrate each week when preparing for, and delivering, their lessons.
A thoroughly rewarding experience for anyone with ambitious academic goals.
Prior to beginning my tenure as a teacher, I was a student at A+Tec for almost a year whilst I was completing my final year of A-Levels. Having underachieved at AS level, and gaining a grade C in Maths, Mr Sivanathan instilled belief in me that he could help me in the process of excelling in the subjects I was carrying forward to my A2 year. He made me aware that it would require a lot of hard work and thorough commitment. I worked extremely hard under his guidance and the teaching I received during that time was incredible and pretty much set me on my way to university. I was successful in my quest to over-turn my poor performance at AS level and achieved ABB for my A levels, with the A grade in Maths. As they say, hard work really does pay off in the end!
On completion of my bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences at King’s College London, I undertook a number of job roles in healthcare including working as a phlebotomist (taking blood from patients in the outpatient clinic and on the wards) and working as a medical secretary in a number of departments at Kingston Hospital. I also found time to volunteer as a first aider at St John Ambulance.
In addition, I was offered the opportunity to teach Biology at A+Tec on Saturdays, and having been inspired by the teaching methods used by Mr Sivanathan whilst I was a student, I undertook the role of team leader in the Biology department prior to commencing my master’s degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Westminster. In the process of my completing my laboratory research project as part of my MSc, I was privileged to have some of my work in glycobiology published in the journal ‘Oncology News’. Nevertheless, I found teaching itself to be a challenging but yet very rewarding and worth-while experience.
After spending over 4 years working as part of a great team of teachers and educating some of the brightest students, my time at A+Tec sadly came to an end having decided to embark on a new adventure in pursuing graduate medicine in Poland. Education and teaching are vital components of a medical career and teaching biology to the children at A+Tec has given me the chance to explore a variety of ways to learn as well as teach. Furthermore, it has improved my ability to present information confidently and precisely.
I will always be fond of A+Tec and will offer my continued support and wish all students and staff the very best of luck going forward.
